one thing you will notice is how casually they are dressed, this was meant as a more BTS performance. there is later video of them doing a more formal performance in the same hall for the battle and opera piece. there is also a video of the japanese one but it hidden away in some BTS video. always cool to see the earlier redition of the work and how it evolve to the finalised version.

Love the reactions! Actually, the most recent live orchestral concert in Shanghai would be perfect for you to react to next! It contains some of the best handpicked representative Genshin songs from every region till date so it'll really give you a taste of Genshin's amazing OSTs in a nutshell from it's start till the current version, with all cultural regions and their worldly musical influences properly incorporated, in a live performance. Not just regional themes are being played but also individual character themes, bosses, trailer, battle themes etc. are in the concert too. The concert link below: ua-cam.com/video/RgcOQo-Ty_I/v-deo.html

Really happy to see you listening to more Genshin OSTs. As another commenter mentioned, it would be great if you could listen to the less "mainstream" ones like the boss and city themes. Listening to the albums starting from the oldest one might be a good way if you're not sure where to start with that, of course that's only if you're interested! They have a wide range of music styles, and some of the tracks are slightly reminiscent of classical pieces and/or composer styles (off the top of my head, one example is a recently added battle theme sounded like Vivaldi, and there may have been one similar to Satie's Gymnopedie iirc). Thanks for the videos! :)

I've been loving the Genshin reactions! The live performances are amazing to watch and give you a sense of the region in just 1 or 2 songs. Do you plan on doing reactions to any boss fights, combat themes, city themes? OR just the live performances? I love the live performances, but with 1100+ tracks now and counting, some of the best get buried, and I'd love for the underrated tracks get some spotlight!

@@michelleeverbloom I'd be delighted to have some of these gems be recognized! I don't think there's a single song in Genshin that I don't like, so I could make and endless list, but these are a few that I think aren't nearly talked about as much as I think they should be(thats kinda hard with nearly 1200 songs though lol). A lot of these songs are just used to set the tone for the area they are taking place in. They don't grab your attention like the city, battle, boss themes do; but I think they set the mood for the areas they represent brilliantly all the same. It might not be the theme or sound you're looking to showcase, but all these songs make me feel very emotional. So even if it's for your own entertainment, I hope you can enjoy and appreciate them! Strictly speaking, the traditional Japanese drum should be called Wadaiko (和太鼓). Taiko in Japan as a general name for the "drum". That is to say, any drum in the world can be called taiko, like Western Taiko (西洋太鼓), Korea taiko, Chinese taiko and so on.

I'd say one of the reasons I sometimes stand still for 30 minutes in a specific ingame area is just to appreciate the music. The battle and boss themes are especially good. I suggest you check out some boss themes, these ones are tame compared to those. Also, I suggest you check out some of the concerts, it's a long sit but it's worth it, they're so good! I guess one of the reasons Genshin has become so popular is its music, the way they merge traditional instruments with pop/edm/sometimes even dubstep and drumnbass is amazing.

I'm so happy to see more new people diving into Genshin's phenomenal music, especially someone with a background such as yours. I really enjoyed your reaction! Your awe and amazement hearing these soundscapes is contagious-- I felt as though I'm hearing them again for the first time! Inazuma's themes are definitely more somber, and I actually started tearing up at 0:55 because you mentioned it LOL 😭 I'd love to suggest > "Sumeru OST "Forest of Jnana and Vidya Preview MV" and > "Sumeru OST "Forest of Jnana and Vidya" Promotional MV" (yes they're different😂) from Genshin's official channel as well. Theya are not exactly in an orchestra setting, but they put the members in a landscape to match the vibe or inspiration of the song! I'm sure it'll be a treat for the eyes and heart as well. As an avid Genshin fan myself, I look forward to seeing more of your reactions in their other music! Welcome to their beautiful and diverse world, and I hope you enjoy it! Right, it's one of the reasons why I love Inazuma's OST so much, but also Liyue's and Sumeru's, it features a lot of awesome folk instruments from everywhere, and I think that's so rad! Fontaine's OST is my least favorite of all of them, there are some AMAZING tracks in it (Shade of Flowers, The Drifting Beauty, Year of Tribulation and Magick Without Tears are the ones that come to my mind, for exemple), but I'm so much more "picky' with Fontaine's music than other regions! I think it's exactly bc other regions have a lot more diversity and more "unique" elements to them, in comparison~

Such a cool reaction, and honestly, same lol. Inazuma is my favorite region in genshin (despite writiing/pacing issues it has), and the music is a huge factor on why! I think people explained already how each region is inspired by real locations and cultures, and each region has their own main element and an overal theme - Fontaine, the first you reacted to, is Water element and "justice" themed; Sumeru is flora/plants and "Wisdom". Inazuma's element is electricity/lightning and its themed after the concept of "Eternity". And it's so interesting and cool how they manage to showcase these themes into every region's themes! The taiko drums are everywhere in battle themes, because they represent the thunder and lightning in the land, and the conflicts that are happening in the region, when we get there. The music in incredible as it is without context, but the more you go into the game's lore and understanding the decisions and choices made by the composers, the more impressive it gets!

I am hoping she will do the "Reflections of Spring" mini-concert next with "Liyue" as she has been listening to each regional theme in reverse order (Fontain -> Sumeru -> Inazuma). If one jumps past the dead space at the beginning, it is a more manageable 21 minutes long: ua-cam.com/video/8svl0sQXDLI/v-deo.html I like how the mini concert focuses on the orchestra and ends with the "Liyue" theme.
